Will of John Teague of Saint Briavels Common Yeoman 1803 - 1878

Information deemed from this will states he his cousin to children of Thomas & Ann Teague nee Prosser & Edward & Lucy Teague nee Prosser. I appoint my said cousin the said THOMAS TEAGUE executor.

Birth place appears on census for St Briavels except 1871 that he is from London, Clerkenwell area, there isn't any bapt details on ancestry or IGI. Who is he????

The will also confirms
to HENRY WHITBY of the Ash Trow Green near Coleford and to his two sisters the sum of nineteen pounds and nineteen shillings each [children of my deceased cousin MARY]; to my cousin ANN GOSS the sum of forty pounds; for the same unto HUBERT TEAGUE of Caudwell Farm near Coleford farmer, JAMES MADLEY TEAGUE of Trow Green near Coleford and GEORGE TEAGUE of Close Turf Farm near Saint Briavels farmer the sum of nineteen pounds and ninteen shillings each [children of my deceased cousin George]; and to GEORGE TEAGUE son of my cousin the said EDWARD TEAGUE the sum of nineteen pounds and ninteen shillings.

Henry Whitby is son of Henry & Mary Whitby nee Teague, Mary dau of Thomas & Ann Teague of Trow Green.
Ann Goss nee Teague is also their daughter previously married to George Yarworth.
James, George & Hubert sons of George & Susannah from Trow Green.

I hope the Teague researchers find this of interest if anyone can shed any light on Johns parentage I would be very interested..........

Hi many thanks for your input, I had not done a search for witnesses, I have been looking at Timothy Hunt & Mary Hulin and can't see any connection so likely just a friend, I had already noted he was witness for Thomas Hulin will Richard Hughes & George Worgan all from St Briavels and executor for a Joseph Hulin.

At least I know he was in St Briavels circa 1822 it will have to wait until I get an opportunity to get to Gloucester.

The name John is not particularly common in FOD Teagues, I will have to go over Ralph Anstis working notes see if he mentions him.

Best wishes...Gill
