Clearwell Police Station (General)

My ancestors home was in Lower Cross Clearwell. It had no name or number to the address just Lower Cross. I have been told that it was once a Police Station. I have details of ancestors going back to 1890 (approx) which I think was William Viscount Cook.
Would like to know the history of the house and any previous owners before that date. Any information or details to research this would be appreciated.

It was in use in approx 1916, but it was apparently only used as a Police Station for a short while, and as you say was located close to the Cross.

If you buy a copy of "The Forest Beat" written by Geoff Sindrey and Ted Heath, published by Black Dwarf publications, there is a photo of Clearwell Police Station and a short write up about it.
