Hi Gilly,
purely from studying the above PRs wrt the Groom's age, occupation & residence and particularly his father's name & occupation, I would say there's every chance they are both one & the same Charles Teague. Yes, he fibbed a little regarding his age but if marrying a girl abt 17 years younger so would I !

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help. Do you think that the Mariam/Miriam on 1851 Census is Mary Ann Booth Hale? Also the marriage to Mary Davis 1857 doesnt come up on free BMD well I cant find it!! Also on 1861 Census there is a 'Fance' as child who obviously isnt Mary Davis daughter as she is 17 - I think she comes up as Pansy?? on another census- however cant find birth for either name or for a Frances/Fanny etc any ideas?
The son Hubert on 1861 is the one that I am interested in - and his father was Charles according to his marriage. He lived in Monmouthshire and USA still alive on 1911C.

Marriage 1857, Gloucestershire BDM : Charles TEAGUE & Mary DAVIS

http://ww3.gloucestershire.gov.uk/bmd/

FreeBDM - Marriage

J/F/M Qtr 1857 - Monmouth District

Charles TEAGUE - Vol : 11a - PAGE 52

* Original handwritten entry on Ancestry says Page 32 - so a transcription error - although Ancestry again transcribed as page 52

Only the people with the same Page No: come up with Charles TEAGUE, hence Mary doesn't

If you use FreeBDM this way:

Search Monmouth District: March qtr 1857 - March qtr 1857

without entering a surname

all the names then come up, including Mary DAVIS - Vol : 11a - Page 32

The original handwritten entry (on Ancestry) does say Page 32
