Hi all

Here I am again on the trail of more elusive ancestors!

I wonder if anyone can help regarding the above. I believe Gladys my have been the daughter of George Charles Lewis and Rosa Hart, and an older sister of my Grandmother. George and Rosa married in Cheltenham in 1909 and had 2 children in Cinderford in 1909 and 1911, at some point between then and the end of the war they moved to Castleford in Yorkshire and their next known child was born there in 1918.

I know George went to war in 1914 and signed up in Cheltenham, and he was invalided out around Christmas of 1917 (information kindly supplied by posters on this site).

My Gran was the youngest of their children and was born in 1929 and has no idea who Gladys could be, if she is connected at all, however I just have a feeling that she may be one of ours! To me the gap of 1911 to 1918 between children just seems too long, even taking the war into consideration.

I can find no other mention of Gladys, no marriage or death, and I have ordered a copy of her birth certificate to satisfy my curiosity but I just hope someone can shed some light on her while I wait for that to arrive!

Once again, many thanks and Merry Christmas

Mel
