Charcoal Burners. (General)
I understand that my mother, because her owm mother had died, was brought up by an aunt and uncle who lived in the Mitcheldean area or even Mitcheldean itself. The period would have been about 1909-1920
Her uncle was a charcoal burner who used to spend days away from the family home tending the `burning`.As I am not entirely sure of the uncle and aunt`s full names I am enquiring if there was a register of charcoal burners archived anywhere which I might be able to view.It is possible that the family would have been from mum`s maternal family of Roberts. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
