Dear Caroline

I am an academic at King's College London and came across your thread on Isaac Hulin.

I am not related to the Hulins but carry out research on wealth and investment in 19th century Britain. Isaac Hulin, one of your ancestors, is in my database which is drawn largely from a series of Inland Revenue papers held at the National Archives (IR19 and IR26).

Isaac died with an estate worth about £387 comprising mostly real estate in St Briavels. He left his estate to his children, George Hulin, Emma Jones, Philip Hulin, Mary Ann Adams, Sarah Williams, Charles Hulin, Sophia Thomas, and Isaac Hulin. He was 83 when he died. His executor was

There is further information on his estate in the IR19 series at the National Archives - referenec IR19/152/3256. There is a list of his freehold property attached to the IR19 form.

I hope this helps fill one or two gaps.

As part of my research I have been looking at over 3000 individuals in the taxation records in which Isaac appears, and I will shortly be focussing more on a smaller group of individuals for which other records exist, notably personal papers relating to land, property and wealth. If you are aware of any papers that relate to Isaac of this nature, I'd be very interested to hear about them.

With regards
