Henry DAVIS: Iron Miner : born 1806 (General)
by Glyndwr1945 , Tuesday, January 03, 2012, 16:51 (4714 days ago)
Henry DAVIS is my 3x great grandfather married to a Sarah HALFORD. I understand that he was born in 1806 in West Dean and was an Iron Miner. I also understand that this gave him the right to be know as a Free Miner which seems to have goven him some rights within the forest.
He had a son helpfully called Henry William DAVIS born on 30 November 1830 in Pillowell also a miner I believe. He married Ann White and they had a family comprising Henry William born 1 July 1860 in Plump and two sisters Elizabeth and Jane. This last Henry moved away form the forest when he grew up.
I am finding a difficulty verifying the infomation within my family about these Henrys and their link to the Forest of dean.
Can anyone advise how I can follow this up please?
Kind regards
