Not sure if this will help. I have in one of my family trees Cornelius Meek, b 1766 married 19 April 1790, Newlands to Elizabeth Tayler.
Children of this marriage I have as
George b 1787
Susanna 1790-1865
Barzillai 1793-1863
William 1794
John 1801-1851
Susanna Meek married John Oakey born 1791 Aston Ingham. Married 8th June 1813 at St Philips and St James Church, Bristol.
John Oakey was in the North Gloucester Militia, and stationed in Bristol

Hi Natalie
Repeating your original irritatingly January 2012 locked thread :

The short answer is yes. Barzillai Meek 1823 who married Mary Ann Sterry 1827 was the son of Barzillai Meek 1794/1863 & his first wife Elizabeth Jones 1798 married 12 Jun 1819.
As Brian has said Barzillai 1794 was the son of Cornelius Meek 1766/1827 & Elizabeth Tailor 1797.
Having discovered your January 2012 posting was locked and unable to reply, I sent you an email.

Hi Jim,
Thank you very much. I will post the information about Enoch and his descendents on the weekend. I am still trying to get my head around simple things like storing family tree info. I have double checked my info using the census and registration index.
I cant believe how much info i have got from this forum and cant wait to visit some of the area's. It would appear that so far i have got as far back as Francis Meek born c1655 in Ruardean. He married Charlotte Lamb in 1680.
Enoch married Charlotte Cadle and they moved to Abertillery in south wales which was the beginning of my welsh links.
Thank you for being so helpful.

Brian
Having spent the last week emailing each other trying to establish firmer Meek connections. I find that I didn't previously know that Susannah Meek married John Oakey 1791. Having entered that in my family tree, I noticed an Elizabeth Oakey 1796 who married John Meredith 1796. I then checked the baptism's for both and found parents of both John & Elizabeth Oakey (spelt differently) were William Oakey & Elizabeth.
My connection to Elizabeth Oakey was that John Meredith & Elizabeth Oakey had a son Thomas Meredith 1820 who married Elizabeth Trigg 1819, Elizabeth being the daughter of Benjamin Trigg 1787 & my GGGG Aunt Mary Marfell 1795.

Jim.
On the Oakey side, John Oakey's father was as you say William Oakey, born 1756 in Aston Ingham, he married Elizabeth Sterry 5 December 1785 in Taynton.
His father was also William and he married Anne Stroud 14th October 1753 in St Mary de Lode.
The only siblings of John Oakey b 1791 at Aston Ingham I have found to date are:-
Hannah b 1786
William b 1789
Thomas b 1792
Do you have the date of Elizabeth birth please

Hi Brian
I have Elizabeth as born 11 Sep 1796, baptised 2 Oct 1796 Hartbury. Her son with John Meredith - Thomas baptised 23 Jan 1820 Little Dean.
There has been controversy in the past as to the parentage of Thomas Meredith's wife Elizabeth Trigg 1819, there being 2 Benjamin Trigg's to choose from. Both are in my Family Tree as the "other" Benjamin Trigg 1791 married Elizabeth Roberts 1795, my 3rd cousin four times removed, they had a daughter Elizabeth 1822. I have a copy of the will of Elizabeth Trigg 1819's Grandfather John Marfell 1769 which satisfies me.

Hi Natalie,
I have the same, James Meek married Susannah Follis. James's father was Basil Meek 1694-1747 who married Susannah Watkins 1695-1750. That's as far as I have got.
I think that James had a brother Basil (Bassel) Meek
