Newland parish records (General)
I realise that this is not connected with the previous post; but are you able to tell me whether the Newland parish records contain entries regarding births ( and maybe baptisms) for 1779? I have identified a direct ancestor who was born in that year, and lived and died within the parish. His name was William Matthews. I am most interested in tracing the direct lineage back further.
By a different route, a cousin and I have established that our most remote ancestor was Jenkyn Wyrell, whose tomb lies within the Church.
My name appears on this site as Wroglet - but my true name is Roger Matthews.
