Old Photos of Cinderford & Union Stores? (General)

Hi Sheila,
For Cinderford & area old photos I strongly recommend you search out the "Tilley" series of postcards, so-called as made by Tilley of Ledbury in Edwin's pre WW1 days, renowned for being attractively coloured. A Google often throws hits on various sites showing or selling these cards including the wellknown auction sites.

Our local Lightmoor Press has produced a superb paperback book, A4 size so easier to read compared to some books of a similar nature, this has many cards displaying Cinderford shopfronts plus many more of the surrounding Forest area and it's industry etc.

However the book doesnt carry photos of the aforementioned "bottleneck". I see the "Royal Union" photo I refer to (off this site) is produced by "Valentines" so I suggest maybe search those out too ?
