I have an Abel Roberts 1819/1861 & Anne Trigg 1816 in my Family Tree who who I believe are the parents of Thomas Roberts, does this accord with your researches ? :

Neither Abel Roberts or Anne Trigg are directly related to me, but 2 of their children, George 1856 and Mary Ann 1861 married children of my 4th cousin 3 times removed Timothy Roberts 1825 & Jane Nicholls 1828.

Abel Roberts brother James Roberts 1815 married Esther Matthews 1821, daughter of William Matthews 1792 & Esther Dubberley 1789, children from this marriage leads to more Roberts, Trigg's & inevitably several Marfell's.
