Hi again Dave, thank you for the info.I wasn't sure if I had the right Ellen Tippins but seems to be the one who married Edward Worgan,my great, great grandfather.
I wonder if you have any more info on Grantley Worgan? My family used to talk of one of the relatives who went to America and I have found a Grantley Worgan on the 1907 New York passenger arrival list, age 26.The age fits and it gives his UK address as Tredegar, which also fits with the family.Do you happen to know if he stayed in the US and what became of him?

Help,I'm a little confused(it doesn't take much)! My great, great grandmother,Ellen Tippins was the daughter of Henry(b1814) and Jane Tippins.I have Henry as the son of William and Ann Tippins and then William as the son of Richard Tippins and Hannah York. However, the records only show Richard and Hannah with 3 sons called Shadrack,Abednego and Nathaniel.Have I got my William wrong or his parents wrong?
Would appreciate any help please.

not sure how you squeeze another generation in before the birth of Henry in 1814 ? --so yes there appears to be an error here.

Willam and Ann probably marry arround 1810 - need to check other offspring etc..

Henry and Jane TIPPINS Brockway Ditch

by E.Aaron, Saturday, August 30, 2014, 22:53 (3733 days ago) @ jan115

Hi
I don't know if my family is part of this Tippins family tree. However my maiden name is Eileen Elizabeth Tippins born Portsmouth UK 17.11.1953. My Father Alvin David Tippins born Edinburgh UK 19.08.1919. My Brother Lawrence David Tippins born Portsmouth UK 14.12.1946. My Grandfather Henry Tippins not sure of his birth date or place of birth, but I expect I could find out from my brother.

I think it is somewhat ironical that My Christian name is Eileen & my Grandfather's was Henry & I have lived in Wales since 1982! Strange how peoples lives touch others throughout history.

I don't know if the information I have given you is of any help. I hope so, perhaps you would let me know.

Kind Regards

Eileen

Re: Alvin David TIPPINS, born Edinburgh, married Portsmouth - family centred in Portsmouth

Researching Scotland ancestry

http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

You'll need to log in ….

Put in the name TIPPINS - say no-one listed by that name 1911 census - and just one birth, assume Alvin's.

Where did Henry TIPPINS die ??? Portsmouth ??? as this would probably give his dob on Ancestry

???

birth date about 1890
Date of Reg: March 1951

Hi Eileen,
Thank you for your reply. It seems that our Henrys are 2 different people, taking MP Griffiths reply into account. There does not seem to be a connection between these Tippins trees.
If you are researching your tree further back, perhaps you will find a link to the Forest of Dean Tippins, who knows?
Thanks again,
Janet

Brockway Ditches - could this be the area known as Brockhall Ditches which is at the top end of Fancy Road going out of Parkend up towards The Barracks? I used to live in this area - 2nd last house on left going up Fancy Road.
