I can now see why Clare questioned Sarah's surname, but cannot explain it...yet.

Using FoD's Advanced Search, searching Marriages with Bride's Father = Thomas Dobbs, within the very near timeframe gives two similar puzzles:

I cannot find this couple on GlosFH 1851 Census, or their offspring in FoD PRs, do they leave the area?

I cannot find definate Baptism Records for either of the girls, they are very popular(common) names locally. I wonder if Dobbs & Beach are now married ?
