Greaves (General)

by unknown, Sunday, July 29, 2012, 11:28 (4496 days ago)

Hi,

I was wondering whether anyone had any info/photos of the greaves family. Mainly Alfred and Amelia greaves who had a son called William. I know Amelia died in 1931 when William was only 11/12 years old.

Many Thanks,
Michelle

If this is the correct family.... Alfred (stonemason) age 28 & Amelia GREAVES, age 23, plus daughter Isabell age 5 months - are living with Alfred parents and other family members, at 22 Bellott St West, High Town, Manchester. None of them born in the FOD.

Many thanks, yes it is the same family, they were stonemasons. William was my husbands Grandfather. Is there anyway of obtaining Alfred/Amelia's marriage certificate and Amelia death certificate do you know? I've just found out Amelia was buried at Clearwell?

Thanks,
Shell

Hi,

I've managed to trace the Greaves family back to Westmorland/Lancashire. It turns out Stonemasons run in the family with my 3 x great grandfather William Glencross Greaves of Ulverston being a master stonemason. Is there any way of finding out what they helped built?

Thanks,
Shell

My Grandad was a Carpenter/Builder in Swindon, Wiltshire - and I have record of houses/shops he built (1891-1902) from the Wiltshire Records Office - 19th & 20th century Building Regulations Application and Plans, and found my family information via the National Archives A2A
