Hi Spike
Rosina Ann Thompson was my great grandmother. My grandfather was Stanley, who died in the 1950s before I was born. I don't know much about Arthur but my Dad seemed to think he (or possibly his dad) came from Breadalbane, which was the lower part of the Scottish Highlands. Stanley's birth certificate has him down as a commission agent, which I think meant he just set up deals. Stanley married my grandmother in Northampton then they moved to London, where he was the chemist running Boots in The Angel, Islington. My dad, Peter, was born in 1928 and they moved six years later to Market Harborough where Stanley managed a larger branch of Boots. He and my grandmother divorced, though I'm not sure when and he died in a hotel in the 1950s. Dorothy sent the bill on to my dad, which went down like a bucket of sick I gather. Dad had by then emigrated to New Zealand to join the Royal Navy and had just married my mum. Dad is still alive but very frail. If you have any questions I'll email him. He still lives out there but I've lived in the UK since 1979.
Kind regards, Lisa
