There are some issues with the SEARCH facility ( on parish records, etc)
you may have some success using the Advanced Search
The TEAM is looking into it with the Hosting company

Just wondered if there was any reason why any search doesn't work at the moment? I'm logged in and find that every search for any surname tells me "The surname must not be left blank" Just wanted to confirm a few details I already have. FredB

I have also encountered the same problem. But if you just want to confirm some details, use the advanced search and just enter the year and church. That does work, even if you have to go through all the entries for the year to find the one you want.
Surname must not be blank

Despite putting in full names, as I have always done, I keep getting that message on the Parish Records. Obviously I am then unable to search the records.
EDIT - apologies I never realized this thread was in existance and it wasn't just me having problems.

The extended Team has been working this and identified the cause.
A number of fixes have now been put in place on the various "searches" available to you
We are 95% confident that they have been found and corrected , however real life testing
may find some more :-(

Thank you we are continuing to look into this one.
It looks like an update is required to the code behind Advanced Search, we are planning how and when to do this. In the meantime it seems that all the regular searches are now behaving, after a number of small code changes have been applied.

Thank you we are continuing to look into this one.
The Team has continued working on this problem and as far as we can tell has "fixed" the known issues - of course there may be more :-( but testing so far has been sucessful.
