John GRAIL1842 born in Alvington (General)
by eastville , Sunday, February 03, 2013, 08:19 (4306 days ago)
I am a little confused with John's life and wonder if someone can help resolve some queries.
I have his birth as 1842 in Alvington, however, I can not find any Birth record for him.
I have a baptism 7 December 1842 in Alvington.
The next thing I know he was living with his brother Joseph at Small Brook, Woolaston from Census 1881. In the census it is stated John is a widower.
I can not find any marriages for him prior to this date. Did John have any children with his first wife?
I can see a marriage of John Grail to Elizabeth Ann Williams on 15 August 1901 at Woolaston.
Elizabeth Ann Williams state is also listed a widow. Her fathers name is David Jones. I have looked for her previous marriage and find hundreds of marriages between Williams and Elizabeth Jones between 1860 and 1900.

Wow Marilyn, I'd never of thought of search Grey for Grail. It's funny how all spelling for Grail all come back to Grail at some point in time. Maybe it's the way they spoke when giving their name that leads to different spelling. Great work, I appreciate your help
