GlosBMD gives following Marriages for Sidney Gilbert Smith:
Groom Surname Groom Forename Bride Surname Bride Forename District Parish Building Year Register Entry

SMITH Sidney Gilbert STROUD Ellen Elizabeth Gloucester Gloucester St Mark 1922 31 No 7 78

SMITH Sidney Gilbert MERRETT Violet McFarland Gloucester Gloucester Register Office 1931 42 106 (as above posts, Violet McFarland was in MERRETT household 1911)

On the face of it these could both be the same Sidney, however GlosBMD also gives births for two separate Sidneys:
Child Surname Child Forename Father Surname Mother Surname Mother's Former Name Year District Office Register Entry
SMITH Sidney Gilbert SMITH SMITH WATKINS 1900 Gloucester Gloucester, Barnwood 1 334

SMITH Sidney Gilbert SMITH SMITH HOLDER 1910 Gloucester Gloucester, Barnwood 4 458

--------------

Internet searches found these two highly detailed histories of Lassington & it's inhabitants which are hopefully of interest, the first includes
"Godwin Smith was described as the principal landowner in 1935."
http://www.victoriacountyhistory.ac.uk/sites/default/files/work-in-progress/Lassington_...

While this second one states
"After 1928 Lassington no longer had a resident clergyman and, following the break-up of Sir Anselm Guise’s estate in 1920,23 the three principal farms were worked by owner-occupiers, Lassington Court and Astman’s farms by members of the Smith family."

I hope this is of some assistance.
