Buffrey/Jenkins/Mathews (Worcester Newland connections) (General)

I have been researching my 5th Great Grand Uncle Jeremiah Jenkins b 1741. Jeremiah married Margaret Mathews at Shrawley Worcestershire in 1769. Margaret died in 1795 and is buried at Newland.

I am trying to place some logic around how and why Jeremiah and Margaret met, when I realised that Worgan Buffrey b abt 1737 (my 5 x Great Grandfather) was born in Old Swinford.

Joseph Buffrey the s/o Worgan married Sarah Guess at Newland in 1793

Shrawley and Swinford are about 15 miles apart, both close to the river Severn. Both Shrawley and Swinford are about 60 miles from Newland.

I have two marriages with conections to different families (Mathews and Buffrey) both living sixty miles from Newland.

Can anyone suggest any industrial conections between Newland and Shrawley/Old Swinford.

Regards

Tony Jenkins

You are into the Black Country so Iron and Coal are the obvious links
