I am confused - Are there too many Matilda's spoiling the pie ?

As at the beginning of this thread, the Matilda that Emanuel Meek married in Ross District Jun qtr 1845 was Matilda Gough. Daughter of William Gough & Esther:

1841Census Mitcheldean
William Gaugh abt 1800 Gloucestershire,
Esther Gaugh abt 1794 Mitchell Dean,
Matilda Gaugh abt 1824 Gloucestershire,
George Gaugh abt 1827 Gloucestershire,
Charlott Gaugh abt 1829 Gloucestershire,
Charles Gaugh abt 1833 Gloucestershire,

1851 Census Mitcheldean
William Gough abt 1791 Mitcheldean, Head
Esther Gough abt 1795 Aston Ingham, Wife
George Gough abt 1827 Abinghall, Son
Charles Gough abt 1833 Abinghall, Son
Lemul Gough abt 1844 Mitchelden, Grandson

I had Emanuel Meek's widow as marrying John Bright in 1884, but this is evidently wrong.

In order to sort my Family Tree out, can anyone through any light on the Elijah Meek who as shown on the parish record was the father of the Matilda who married John Bright.

Jim Ashton
