I was wondering if anyone knew of a Peat family who lived in the Lydney area, probably around World War One and during the 1920's. Later the family may have gone to Bournemouth.
Sorry to be so vague, but I don't have much to go on as yet.
Thanks!

There are no PEAT's on the 1911 census for Lydney.
What Christian names do you have?
I.e. Death registered in Bournemouth - 1964
Horatio PEAT - c1873
---
Have you checked Gloucestershirebdm for any PEAT - marriages/births you recognize? - there are PEATS/PEATES listed???

That's an excellent idea.
I have a Phyllis Peat but I can't find a marriage under her maiden name yet. Then they may not have been married. She died in 2003 in Bournemouth.
Thanks!

A number - 6 -of candidates registered in Chepstow district in summer 1913
Name:Phyllis May Peat
Birth Date: 12 Jun 1913
Date of Registration:Nov 2003
Age at Death:90
Registration District:Bournemouth
Inferred County:Hampshire
Register Number;C23D
District and Subdistrict:427/1C

In the 2002 electoral register she is sharing a house in BH8 area with Simon Emmerson and Naima Emmerson nee Adyater..
My intuition is that she remarried Mr Dale so we are probably looking for a prior marriage and new surname :-(

Hi
Yes, that's my post. I think I may finally have the right Phyllis after chasing a few red herrings in the form of other marriages for her. I can't find a Peat/Dale marriage yet but it's been confirmed by someone who knew her that Phyllis Dale lived in Bournemouth so maybe she just lived with Mr Peat.
I think that could be her daughter June.
Phyllis' parents were William Alan Dale and Edith May Preest. She had a brother Alan and sisters Winifred and Irene.
Edith May Preest was the youngest daughter of Henry Thomas Preest and Mary Anne E Aston but I'm sure the Priest you mention is a relative. Preest/Priest seems to be fairly interchangeable spelling.
Thanks muchly and cheers.
