Hi, just wondering if anyone found any information on this conviction and what the crime was? When I looked into it I was advised that there were no records for this prison at that time surviving today.

Gloucestershire archives:-
1875 vaughan william U West Dean Q/Gc6/6 collier 220 Gaol
1876 vaughan william U West Dean Q/Gc6/6 collier 233 Gaol

I suggest the trial was at Worcester and he was sentenced to serve time, possibly later in Australia (?) so in 1881 he is in a Prison in London probably awaiting transfer..

possible :-
Name:William Vaughan

Date of Trial:16 Dec 1876

Trial Year:1876

Location of Trial:Gloucestershire, England

Sentence:Imprisonment 7 years

Sheep stealing and former conviction of felony
