Once again another year draws to a close....
.......one in which we have spent many hours remembering those who went before us - their occupations, sacrifices and spirit - and our own Loved ones who have departed this year.
As we reflect on our recent past, may I wish all who use this site whatever this time of year signifies to you, a Merry Christmas and Peaceful New Year.

Wishing everyone on the forum the very best for the festive season and a fabulous New Year.
Without all the help and encouragement we've received throughout 2013, family research wouldn't have been half as rewarding or fun.
Cheers from down under and see you all in 2014.
xx

Hope everyone has a good Christmas and thanks for help I was given when the new site started to play up!
Despite the performance problems, I have managed to do quite a bit of research this year. When you think you have done it all, another branch of the family turns up and you have to start again. I'm sure I will be looking again sometime in the future.
Can you believe, it! I posted this and it told me session had finished so had to copy and start again. Hope it works this time! No it didn't! Third time lucky!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all on this forum. I have learned so many things about the Forest of Dean and hope to visit someday. My great grandparents moved from Drybrook to Illinois in the 1880s and my grandfather later moved to Montana,USA where I was born. I have found a lot of information about my family in the parish records and I appreciate the work of all those who have made this possible.

Happy Christmas to all who use this site, but a particular thanks to those who have responded to my postings. All the best for finding out more about our Forest of Dean families in 2014. Hoping too that the Forest of Dean has not been adversely affected by the storms and floods.
Best Wishes,
Rookancestry
