If you look closely at the 1911 census for Sarah Wood she is described as age 70, Widow, Old Age Pensioner. Looking even closer at the word age and the letter e you will see that it is the same as the second character in the name Gerty Wood. Gruty is an error in transcription. The correct transcription should be Gerty.
