Hi im back trying to find the parents of James the surname has been spelt so many ways when he married in 1815 in tidenham it was hihatt the children were christened highatt, highett, hiett, hyett and hyatt. James was buried in tidenham in 1828 so going on his death he was born about 1798. I did find today a James christened in Blaisdon on the 11.3.1798 parents John and Lydia I don't know if this is my James or not is anyone linked to John and Lydia or can anyone find a christening for James grateful for any help with this.

GFHS burial index marks James HIGHATT buried at Tidenham 21/12/1828 as aged 34, Residence Mathern MON (just south of Chepstow). If you can tolerate about 1794 as a birth year there is from LDS,

James HYATT

Hi again Sandra,
just to confirm that the LDS / Family Search website is always a good starting point when searching tricky surnames such as yours, as it's search engine is better than most at coping with and finding spelling variations, and from for minimal effort/time from us. Sometimes the findings are also reflected within this site's PRs.

Hopefully this link to my belated search results will work for you too.

I see they also show your 1798 Blaisdon baptism, but I agree with Mike the 1795 Westbury one looks equally possible being on the Severn like Tidenham, although Blaisdon isn't far away.
