Lane end Coalway (General)

My father was born and brought up here and, in the 1911 Census, the family address was given as Eden Wall, Lane End. I remember the house well as one of his brothers was still living there in the early 1950s. If you access Google Maps and find Coalway follow the road, still called Edenwall, towards Milkwall. A bus stop is shown named Palmer's Flat. That is where the house was (still is) and it seems to be that collection of houses that formed Lane End. To the best of my recollection Palmer's Flat is actually a little way further along where the road flattened out (a clue in the name I guess!) and near Gorsty Knoll. The road becomes Station Road as it leads to what would have been Milkwall station on the Coleford to Lydney line.
