It is with deep sadness that I have to inform you that my husband Roy Herbert died in hospital on 13 Sept 2014. He was aged 68. To my knowledge he was the last surviving male of the Herbert family who came to Yorkshire to mine coal in late 1800's. I would like to thank all of the people who have helped me over several years trace his ancestors. I will of course continue to share whatever I have on the Herbert and Phelps family.
