Hi again Chris,
on a more general level across the UK, the "Moving Front" website has some film clips of Home Guard activities. I've not used the site for a while but I think it's still operational, it's certainly worth browsing for all sorts of subjects.

The "Midlands" MACE site definitely covers Herefordshire and, despite there being no Gloucestershire title in the search menu, it does over one thousand general clips relating to Gloucestershire life too, and about one hundred for "Dean Forest", altho these are all post 1960s.

Whereas the SouthWest site, which supposedly includes Gloucesteshire, hasn't helped me at all, it seems to be more Devon-biased.

Should have mentioned before, I've not tried it myself yet, but the Forces War Records site apparently has some Home Guard records

Finally, this site may be of use to you.
