Looking a bit more into Stephen,

We think a possibility is his parents being james and margaret
So we are looking for a Stephen born about1690 to 1699 and also a marriage 1690 to ???,of James possibly born about 1669 to 1680 in newlands or monmouthshire and a margaret b ???

James and margaret had

Margaret 1700
Mary 1706
Paul 1709
Paulinus 1709 ( twins )
Plus any others ??

Any help appreciated

Well Stephen was shown on the 1750 tithe books as paying tax on some land whitchurch, but speaking to someone at the hereford records office quite a few documents and records were destroyed by severe flood damage at the church in whitchurch, so it means now perhaps that the bishops transcripts may hold stephens information of his baptism and his parents,

Is there any particular record you are looking for?
Parish Records have been transcribed for this period and you can find a transcript summary on the website by going to Resources, Parish Records and clicking on the link to "transcribed parish records" in the paragraph headed 'Progress Overview.'
The records are held at Gloucestershire Archives and images are available on Ancestry.
