Hi sharlock have you recently moved into Sandford House?

Have a read through the other posts a Webstermz was living there, and Searcher is the one who is related to the Taylors who lived there ,try dropping them a line to see if they are still on here,if you havent already

My relative is the Reverend John Wotton Pengelly (and his new wife Ellen) ,who move into the area in 1884 as Vicar of Alvington /Aylburton he retires in 1886.No mention of where they are living
1890 -They advertise for a servant for Sandford House
1891-Census shows them living there with servant
1898 -He dies there aged 85
1901 -Ellen is living there with her niece and a male servant
1902 -Kellys directory has her there
1904- and 1906 -Tramps sentanced for stealing her apples!
1909 -Her niece marries the male servant
1911-They are now living down the road in Stroat

National Archives have The Cyril Hart Forest of Dean Papers 1932/56 which include a family photo album ,with views of Sandford House and Gardens

Morris Commercial Directory 1876 -Has the Occupant as William Rudge Farmer.

Hope this is of use ,drop me a line if you want details
