PARADISE Lost! (General)

Emily Paradise was born Rhoda Emma Hawkins on 20 Dec 1863 in Yorkley, West Dean. Her father was William Hawkins, collier, mother Rhoda Hawkins, formerly Jones. Her birth was registered in the district of Coleford on 9 Jan 1864.
As Emily Paradise, She marries William Stevens on 5 March 1887 by banns in Rodmarton, Glos. and she dies on 19 dec 1953 in Wroughton Wiltshire.

Harriet, her sister was born on 30 Oct 1866 in Yorkley to the same parents. Probate records show she died as Harriet Rhoda Hawkins on 2 feb 1943 in London

Their father, William Henry Hawkins was beptised in Blakeney on 16 Oct 1842. Only his mother, Harriet Hawkins, spinster is listed. No father named. Abode is Viney Hill. Harriet Hawkins later marries Henry Paradise in May 1843, and from then on, William appears to use both the surname Hawkins and Paradise.

As William Hawkings, aged 20, batchelor, he married Rhoda Jones, 20 by banns at St Mary's Church in the Parish of Lydney on the 14 Dec 1862. His father is named as William Hawkings (the same name as his grandfather), collier, and her father is William Jones, collier. Witnesses are Thomas Paradise and Rosatta Worgan.

The 1871 census, shows the Paradise family living in Hanley staffordshire, but I can't find any record of the family in 1881, and William and Rhoda seem to vanish after that date
