BNA Hereford Journal - Wednesday 15 August 1821

On the 19th Ult. a man of the name of Dance came to this city to see the procession in celebration of the Coronation, and at night being very much tired he sat upon piece of timber near the Church-yard, and fell asleep. When he awoke he found his quarter boots had been taken from his feet, and upon further search he discovered that his pocket, which contained about 15s. in silver, had been also cut from his small-clothes, The boots were afterwards found in the possession of man named John Turner, who has in consequence been committed to our gaol, to take his trial at our ensuing Assizes. He also stands charged with stealing a coat from the Green Dragon in this city, on the night of the 21st ult. the property of Thos. Bullen, and which he had sold to a Pawnbroker in Ludlow.
