Baptism record of Daniel Arnold (General)
by PatFrancis, Friday, November 17, 2006, 23:50 (6582 days ago)
I have been looking for the baptism record of my GG grandad Daniel Arnold. According to his marriage record from St Nicholas Gloucester, his father was William Arnold. The 1851 census shows Daniel as being born at Westbury on Severn, in 1821. We have searched the Westbury on Severn baptism records and could not find a Daniel, however we did find a Thomas b.1820 and Elizabeth b.1822, to William and Hannah Arnold. We are now not sure if our Daniel is a member of this family. If any one finds any details please let me know, Thanks, Pat Francis.

Hi Pat
Daniel married Ann right? Their are baptisms for children to Daniel and Ann in Westbury on Severn.
Elizabeth Arnold 7 May 1848 - Fathers Occupation Labourer
Louisa Ann Arnold 24 Feb 1850 - Fathers Occupation Labourer
William Harding Arnold 25 Jul 1852 - Fathers Occupation Labourer
Alfred Arthur Arnold 20 May 1855 - Fathers Occupation Labourer
Alice Zipporah/Deborah Arnold 2 Aug 1857 - Fathers Occupation Labourer (The IGI on familysearch.org has it as Alice Zipporah and the parish records transcriptions on this site has it as Alice Deborah)
The transcription on this site also has fathers name transcribed as David not Daniel, so this following child with father David mother Ann may also apply to your family:
Priscilla Jane Arnold 12 Mar 1865 - Fathers Occupation Labourer.
There is some more info on William Harding Arnold that I have found.
Let me know if you would like to hear it.
Joanne.

Hi Joanne
Thanks for your input. Yes, Daniel was married to Ann,and their son William Harding Arnold was my gt grandad. We have found that William and his wife Alice had at least 17 children, although the transcribed parish records have a conflict on this and there could have been as many as 20. The parish record of the death of James Arnold b.1888 d.Jan 1897 has a comment "of his 14 children Arnold has now buried 9". The parish record for the birth of Harry Arnold May 1897 has a comment "this is the 18th child". We have not yet been able to look at the original to find out which is correct.
I would be interested to see what info you have on the family.
Hope to hear from you.
