My Great-Grandmother Mary Ann Meek (b1847) was a servant at the Greyhound Inn, High Street, Mitcheldean in 1871 census. It was run by Thomas & Emma Trotter ( nee Emma Smith ).

Emma died in July 1871 leaving Thomas with 5 children.

Thomas married to Mary Ann Meek in Jan 1874, and they had 2 children.

Thomas died in Apr 1876 and Mary Ann married Henry Palmer in May 1877.

Mary Ann & Henry moved to Rhondda Valley, Glamorgan, South Wales

Emma & Thomas's 5 children were left in Gloucestershire some with the Smith family.

1) Where did the Trotter family go

2) anyone have a photo of the Greyhound Inn

Regards

David
