Hi Rob, My Great Grandfather was also Joseph Cindrey - Pit Sinker.

Apparently, he was known as 'Glouster Joe'. I am not quite sure about the marriage between my great grandad and Harriet Fisher, but they did have at least two children, Henry Flower Cindrey and Joseph Cindrey. Both were born in Monmouthshire but moved with there parents to the Chesterfield area - when I don't exactly know, but it must have been in the late 1800s or early 1900s.

Henry Flower Cindrey was my grandfather and he married Mary Turner. They had 9 chidren of which 2 died in thier infancy. Of the 7 that survived into their adulthood (3 boys and 4 girls), 4 have died, including my Father, William Henry Cindrey. The first born and therefore eldist child is Margret (Mini) Cindrey with a married name of Greaves. She is now 95 years old and recently made a widow. Although a little frail on her legs, she has the mental ability and memory of a professor. My aunte Min has one daughter, margret.

Elizabeth (Betty) Cindrey, now Cheetham by marriage, is the youngest daughter of Henry and Mary Cindrey - John (Johnny) Cindrey is the youngest child and is a very healthy 75 year old. He is married to Olive with one daughter, Anne.

Henry Flower's brother, Joseph, did not marry but lived to a good age and visited my grammar Mary every day of his life until he died.

I am the only grandson of Henry and Mary Cindrey with the surname of Cindrey.

My name is Brian William Cindrey, married to Muriel Harris in 1969 with only one child, a boy to carry-on the name, Andrew Paul Cindrey. He was born in 1983.

As far as I am aware, we are the only remaining Cindreys, however I hope that I am wrong Rob. I would be more than grateful if you would advise me accordingly.

Brian.
