William Murrell b1790 Newent (General)
Hi, I have at last made a connection to William Murrell who was born 1790 in Newent and died 1836 also at Newent. He was married to Anne and had at least three children: Charles, Charlotte and Eliza.
I am now trying to find out the surname for Anne and the parents for both William and Anne.
I am wondering if anyone has access to the Parish Records for Newent or who might have already carried out some research in this area.

I don't know if you've joined the 'members area' of this website, but at the moment there is an ongoing transcription of Parish Records. Newent is amongst them, but only a small number at the present time have been transcribed. There are a few Murrell's amongst them that may or may not be connected to your William. If you contact Dave Watkins who runs the site he may be able to tell you when the next batch of Newent transcriptions are due.

The Newent parish registers pre-1812 are online at http://www.forest-online.co.uk/newent.html , we are gradually converting them from Word into Excel so that they can be included on this website. I have some imagery of the post-1812 registers with the rest having been ordered as fiche, hopefully the transcriptions will start early next year and will start appearing on the website by about Eastertime.
