Hi Barbara -

I came across your inquiry on the message board the other day and thought I could help you with the family names of Bright/Daw/Dawes.

I have been researching my Daw/Dawes ancestors from Longhope Village and have a connection to the Bright's.

Robert Daw/Dawes married Margaret Bright by license in 1692.

These are Robert and Margaret's nine children:

1. Margaret
2. Robert
3. Joan
4. Esther
5. Clement
6. William
7. Jane
8. Mary
9. Susanna

Robert Daw/Dawes died January 2, 1730 and his wife, Margaret Bright died around 1746. Robert Daw/Dawes is buried at All Saints' Churchyard, Longhope. Also buried with him is his sister Joane (Dawes) Morwent. I haven't been able to find where Margaret is buried.

Margaret (Bright) Dawes had a Will when she died and I have sent away to get a copy of this. I should be getting it about the end of January. I could send you a copy if you would like one.

I have more information that I would gladly share with you.
