Richard Low(e) 1771-1853 ? parents. (General)
All I know is you need to be careful. I have a Richard Low on my tree (born 9/27/1771). One of his siblings was a James Low. I was determined to find Richard in Wiltshire, or perhaps Gloucestershire. Turns out, they were both born in Hungerford, Berkshire to a Jane Low. For all of her children born, no father is listed. That suggests that they were all baseborn. James later died in Hoe Benham, Berkshire but he ran The Waggon and Horses in Beckhampton. Guess they moved around back then. Many people on ancestry .com have James' parents listed as Benjamin Low and Jane (White) Low. However, no other Benjamin is within the family names. I don't know why they put them as parents; perhaps just because they were the closest find. I prefer to get the real branch of the tree rather than just taking a leap of faith which could, and usually does, go down the wrong road. Anyway, wondering if perhaps your Richard could be my Richard.
Happy Hunting, Rose
