Where is Linton? (General)

by leigh, Tuesday, February 06, 2007, 09:24 (6501 days ago)

Could some kind person please tell me where Linton is - on some records its shown as Hereford and on others is shown as Newent.

The family that I am looking for came from this area - is Aston Ingham nearby?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Ps: what parish would their B, M, D's be in?

Thank you

Leigh

Have a look at the Map of the Forest of Dean we have on the website.
http://www.forest-of-dean.net/map.php

Zoom in to give you more deatail, then drag the map with your mouse down so you
can see the areas above that are hidden offscreen. You will then be able to see
Linton and Aston Ingham.

Each village has its own church - Linton - St Mary & Aston Ingham - St John

Prior to 1896 Linton and Aston Ingham BMD's were registered under Newent, after 1896 appear under the Ross civil registration district.
