Taken from the online version of A History of the County of Gloucester: Volume 5

The Salvation Army held meetings in Cinderford town hall in 1886 and had its own
place of worship nearby in Woodside Street c. 1930.

Thanks David.
I suspect my Baldwins acquired Salvation Army habits when they moved to S Wales. There doesn't seem to have been much going oon in the Forest.

..given that William Booth's preaching started around 1865 in London, and the Army was not "founded" until 1878 , Gloucester / Forest of Dean were early adopters.
