Chepstow's Unique War Memorial

by Roger Griffiths, Wednesday, March 14, 2007, 10:21 (6466 days ago) @ admin

U9 launched 22Feb1910. Broken up 1919 (Newport?). I've found 4 pics. on www.battleships-cruisers.co.uk/u-boats.htm. None of them mount the long modern looking gun. I presume the gun was fitted later in WWI. Don't know where the UB suffix comes from although no doubt means Untersee Boot. I thought that both in WWI and WWII they were U and number.
