Ruardean fruit picking (General)

After chatting with my mum today she remembers my father going to his Aunt Mays farm to pick strawberries. May b. 1899 Ruardean Nee Griffiths was married to Jack Hale. They had a son Kenneth. Does anyone remember May and her farm?
