by peveral, Monday, May 14, 2007, 16:29 (6405 days ago)

I would appreciate help in finding William Jones born 1818 and baptised in Hewelsfield, parents James Jones born abt 1787 of Hewelsfield and Elizabeth Morgan of Dingestow Mons.( see previous help to postings for James Jones born 1811) He is a witness to his sister's, Mary Ann Jones, marriage in 1852, i.e. William Jones and Amelia Jones and appear on the 1881 Census:Parkend West Dean Gloucestershire England.FHLF 1342259, RG 11, Piece/Folio 5224/7 page 8.

William JONES, Head, M, Male, age 62, born Hewelsfield, Gloucester, England, Occupation Labourer At Furnaces (Tinwks)
Amelia JONES, Wife, M, Female, age 60, Lydney, Gloucester, England.

So far, I have been unable to trace his marriage but there is a likely one appearing in Chepstow in 1851 and I will follow this up, but in the meantime I am interested to learn if he and Amelia had any children, so just about any help at all would be appreciated. I have traced family for his siblings, James, Elizabeth and Mary Ann.
Thank you
Pat

Dear Bertha, Slowhands, and Malcolm.

I am overwhelmed by what you have all found and there can be no possible doubt that you have all found the right entries. Your research is such a help to me.
Thank you so much all of you, it does seem that he and Amelia did not have any living descendants. That's a shame! I think that contrary to what I originally thought about the Peverell's we are now related to many families in the Forest and this is fascinating to us and we are very grateful to this website and the many willing people that give their time and their expertise so freely to help people like me.

Thank you all again,
Kind regards,
Pat
