Employee records - Princess Royal/Northern United Colleries (General)

Iam researching my maternial family line. My material grandfather George (Barnfield) Hale worked as a collier in the Coleford area as a young man,
then moved to Mountain Ash (Mid Glamorgan). He married there, started a family but then returned back to Coleford around 1915-1920.

Family members (almost all of them deceased, including my mother) recalled to me that my grandfather came back to the FOD on the strenght of a better job
either at the Princess Royal or Norther United Colleries.

Do any members of the forum know if employee records exist for these two colleries. My maternal grandmother (Harriet Hale) died only aged 40 in Coleford in 1939, after producing 12-13 children.

I have uncles, aunts and cousins who were (are) unknown to me, one of which
Joseph (Joe) Hale was landlord of 'The Feathers' in Coleford in the late 1950s or early '60s.

I would be very interested to know of my grandfather's career path. I know he retired in the early 1950s , moved to Chepstow, remarried and died there.

Parkend and Princess Royal would seem a good association :-) at least before he travelled to Wales

There is a William Hale photographed on page 104 of "The last deep mine of dean" ( a history of Northern United) taken around an 1959 , and on page 91 - in the Fitting Shop.
