Joseph & Hannah MEEK (General)

The only clue that is a bit useful on the marriage certificate for Thomas Meek & Elizabeth Boughton is that Thomas Meek is from Lea Bailey and was a labourer. His entry for the 1851 census with Elizabeth Boughton shows him as a wood cutter, which could be deemed a labourer, and certainly not a Coal Miner - although they did flit in and out of coal mining as the mood suited. The christenings for Thomas Meek had one whose father was a labourer living at Lea, the christening took place in 1819. Sons more often than not, followed their fathers trade. I believe that Thomas baptised 1819 is the one who married Elizabeth Boughton as Slowhands has suggested on the web site. This is a shame for me as I am related to the Joseph Meek & Hannah who had a Thomas baptised 1821 but only "connected" to the Joseph Meek & Hannah who had a Thomas baptised in 1819.
