I have in my tree a Henry Ellis Joyner Thomason born c1820 in Staffordshire.
His parents were Benjamin Thomason (staffs) and Matilda Maria ? c1790 (Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire) - as middle names can often help find maiden names etc I am trying to find a link with Ellis Joyner and Matilda .. can anyone out there help?
Many thanks
jess

Hi Jess

I carried out a wild card search on Matilda Maria and it came back with five results. Unfortunately the dates do not tie in with yours.

I have also checked the Ellis and Joyner surnames but no luck.

Perhaps somebody else has some ideas on where you go from here?

Regards
Chris

PS I have now done a wild card check on just the name Matilda. The only one that's coming back is Matilda Lovett (Daughter of Richard & Mary) who was christened 12/03/1788 at Newent.

I believe that Henrys mother is Matilda Maria Joynour, daughter of Reuben Joynour. He can be googled. My info. is from Familysearch.org. Hope this helps.

Indicating Shropshire rather than FoD in Glos, although not too far away and on the River Severn.

Related PRs are here:

I know in more recent times PRs from Westbury On Severn (aka FoD Glos) have been "confused" with those from Westbury in Shropshire, could this be a smiliar situation, surely not ??

I don't have full census access but this maybe the source of the FoD link, again from LDS..

"England and Wales Census, 1851"
Name: Matilda Thomason
Age: 61
Gender: Female
Birthplace: Dean, Gloucestershire
Relationship to Head of Household: Wife
Schedule Type: Household

I haven't fully searched yet, but so far cannot find a Reuben Joynour within this site's FoD PRs.
