Flower Brain (General)

At the moment I have been side-tracked into the Brain family, initial research was Phelps. Came across a Flower Brain, child of John and Melinda Brain. On 1881 census the child Flower is shown as female, and also on 1891 female age 17, no occupation given.
Then found marriage record of Flower Brain married to Sulia Elizabeth Barnard in 1896 Westbury on Severn. I am totally confused as to the sex of this person, Flower being an unusual name for a male, unless of course the translation of the name has been mis-spelt. I can find no record of Flower and Sulia Elizabeth on any further census. They could of course have emigrated. Can anyone shed any light on this mystery? Regards Jean Herbert
