Could anyone help with confirmation of a family story. Uncle Cyril was born in abt 1901 in Lydney. His wife was Alice. We think he was killed in a mining accident locally and is buried in Parkend Church cemetary.

Family story seems to be correct. Forest of Dean Local History Society's 'Roll of Honour' lists Cyril Pettiford as being killed at Norchard 23rd April 1931 aged 30.
Can't help over where he's buried, I'm afraid.
