Burial of Sophia Sheldon (General)
Hi all
after years of tracking my 2nd Great Grandmother around the country I finally found her burial record on this great site.
Sophia started her life as Sophia Bullock of Mitcheldean.After having a child at age 13 in the workhouse she married John Shepherd in Abenhall and had a couple more children.Next she turned up in Yorkshire with a new husband and child as Sophia Simmons.She then lost her husband in a mining accident and remarried becoming Sophia Sheldon.After falling ill it looks like she returned to "The Forest" to be with her sister Ann Nelmes.
The burial record shows Sophia Sheldon of East Dean,29 Jan 1888,Abenhall.Can someone please tell me if it is possible to find out where her actual grave is?

Not sure where you are but if possible a visit to the charming 14th century Church of St Michael Abenhall would be a "plus", and even if you do not find "her" in the graveyard the visit will be be a "reward".

thank you for the reply.I am in Sydney, Australia.I hope to visit England one day and make my way through the towns and villages that my ancestors grew up in.Abenhall is on top of my list.
