If a family attended Salem Chapel, Berry Hill, where would their pertinent church records be housed? Could the sacraments be legally performed in the non-conformist churches? Being a Yank, this issue of non separate, Church and State still confuses me, sorry!

""Forest folk maintained that Berry Hill was 'the last place God made - and then Him had to apologize.' ""

Gloucetershire Archives has some of the surviving records:-

Salem Free Church, Berry Hill

There are those who believe that the Ministers of the Free churches looked after the Registers/records and they have been passed from Minister to Minister, so they may still be around but not in Public archives.
